TERCON SYSTEMS through its sister company Lift and Level, is at the forefront of Commercial Mud Jacking or Slab Jacking as it is often called. Mud or Slab Jacking is the process of raising concrete floors and slabs through hydro-static pressure, thereby gradually lifting the concrete surface with equal distributed force back to its original placement from a lower sinking position caused by the settling and compacting of soil beneath the surface.

One example:

One of the kiln ovens at a local plywood lamenating plant in Matoon, WI. had been sinking over the course of several years. The plant finally had to do something about this problem as they no longer could open the doors to the maintenance and clean out sections of the oven.

The plant management began seeking out a solution to their dilema when another of their sister plants referred TERCON SYSTEMS to assist in correcting this growing concern. TERCON was recommended because of the past quality work we had done for associated plants within the same company.

Below you will find a series of images as well as captions outlining the process during this project.

Here our team members have arrived on site and begin to prepare some of the equipment necessary to raise the 50+ tons of concrete and equipment inside the plant.
Inside the oven our team assesses the job ahead and the requirements before starting their process.  With the oven still at 150 degrees Farenheit the heat was to only add to the level of difficulty.
Here you can see the closed gap between the door and the concrete base. Overall, the oven had settled nearly 6 inches across the facing side.
With a concrete slab over 18 inches thick it took several hours to make all the necessary holes in the concrete to allow the pumping crew to begin the elevation.
After working late into the night our crew was able to successfully raise the concrete base and oven 6 inches, back to its original level state. As a result a lengthy plant shut down and costly repair was averted and the plant was able to get back to full production quickly and affordably through TERCON SYSTEMS.
